The Jamestown Bar Association has rated Tracey A. Bannister as outstanding as Bannister seeks re-election to the Fourth Department Appellate Division.

Kristin M. Lee Yaw, President of the Jamestown Bar Association, made the announcement after the Jamestown Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee evaluated Bannister “exceptional,” the highest mark available for a judicial candidate. The Bar Association committee reviewed his qualifications in detail and conducted a full interview with Bannister.

Bannister has worked as an attorney in private law firms, served as clerk to Supreme Court and Appeal Division Justice Jerome Gorski, served as Kenmore Village Judge, was elected Justice of the Supreme Court of New York in 2008 and serves as a Fourth Department Appellate Division judge as of 2019.

Bannister is a graduate of Rutgers University and Buffalo Law School State University. She has been recognized by the New York State Trial Lawyers Association as “lawyer of the year” and received the Sandy J. Kulick Award for Lawyers Helping Lawyers.
