Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Inc. Announces Expansion of Membership Program and Creation of Centers of Excellence

New Initiatives Will Continue Innovation and Collaboration Across Industries While Fostering Maryland’s Cybersecurity Ecosystem
BALTIMORE, February 09, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, Inc. (CAMI), Maryland’s only nonprofit organization dedicated to leading the advancement of cybersecurity through advocacy and collaboration, today announced the creation of several centers excellence and the expansion of its membership program.
Cybersecurity is a vital issue that affects companies, regardless of their sector of activity. As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated and complex to defend against, CAMI’s goal is to bring together companies navigating this new era to foster increased collaboration. In light of this, CAMI will expand membership requirements to companies across all verticals that view cybersecurity as a strategic initiative.
The creation of Centers of Excellence will allow CAMI to leverage existing resources and activities in an easily accessible manner and enhance the member experience. Additionally, Centers of Excellence will enable CAMI members to further innovate by providing a forum to share best practices to grow the shared cybersecurity ecosystem. CAMI will establish the following centers within their associated communities:

Center for Business Growth and Innovation: Businesses need different resources depending on their stage of growth. This center will support members in raising capital, scaling up operations, mentoring and marketing.

Cybersecurity Talent Center: As organizations strive to close the cybersecurity talent gap and see shortages across the board, there is a need to collaborate and create a holistic approach. This center will work with organizations to align training programs with industry needs, create opportunities in the field, and develop new talent pools with the goal of increasing diversity and transitioning the military into the workforce. – of civil work.

Cyber Resilience Center: As cybersecurity becomes a matter of concern for businesses in various industries, there is a need for access to reliable knowledge and resources. This center will provide these resources to members, including support for Cybersecurity Maturity Model (CMMC) certifications, securing state, local, and educational (SLED) agencies as well as cyber hygiene assistance for small and medium-sized businesses.
